Leading Czech gaming company Synot Lotto knows there is much to be gained by providing people with a variety of regulated games. In cooperation with Boss Media, Synot Lotto has launched Interactive Video Terminals (IVTs) in more than 600 locations throughout the Czech and Slovak Republics since the cooperation began in November 2004.

Today, there are approx 50,000 gaming machines in the Czech Republic, but Pavel Kala, Systems Architect at Boss Media, believes Synot’s new IVT terminals are poised to outshine the aging competition: ”The conventional machines in place are mostly based on mechanical reels. They offer little game variation and no opportunity to change games. Each IVT, however, can literally offer thousands of different games in a host of languages and currencies to appeal to different customer segments.”

Synot has never made a secret of its ambition to be one of the leading companies in the lottery market in the Czech Republic, as well as a dynamic technological innovator. ”There are several companies in the Synot Holding group currently working side by side in various exciting deals and development projects in the lottery industry,” says Kateřina Luisa Daňhelová, Managing Director of Synot Holding.

While each of the companies in the Synot Holding group is independent, there are numerous synergy effects among them, and they all use their best efforts in cooperating to achieve the group’s objectives and visions of supplying the market with complex gaming services. These range from traditional AWPs to state-of-the-art IVT’s, roulette, dice and betting games. The company’s new portal site, www.synotloterie.cz, is the gate to all of these services.

The Boss Media Gaming Terminal System is an adaptable solution that provides tremendous flexibility. High-tech terminals can be placed in gaming venues and other opportune locations to provide players with maximum entertainment. Central control through the back-end interface enables optimisation of the performance of each terminal by adding new games at any time. A central operator can instantly upload new games to the terminals and adjust game selection. ”The primary benefit of utilising a central serverbased gaming system is the ability to easily download new games and other content to the IVT. New content is downloaded to the IVTs on a monthly basis from the central server,” explains Pavel Kala. ”Easy central administration and advanced surveillance of the terminals is a bonus. Regulators can also inspect figures in real time through the back-end interface.”

Public interest in modern gaming terminal systems is continually growing. Not only is the number of terminals increasing, but so is the take at these machines. “The huge interest in these terminals proves that we offer a very attractive, high-quality product,” says Petr Mikoška, Managing Director of Synot Lotto. During the first half of 2007, Synot Holding showed a profit before tax of CZK 234 million, which represents a 40 per cent increase compared to the same period of the previous year. Total half-year turnover totalled CZK 3,656 million. Kateřina Luisa Daňhelová explains that much of the profits are due to the group’s lottery division, and especially to Synot Lotto and its emphasis on IVT.

In addition to the high-quality products the company offers, ongoing innovations are the key to Synot Lotto’s IVT success. The IVTs offer not only a wide selection of games with perfect graphics, but also provide a wide range of titles and other benefits, such as larger prizes, better security against abuse, and detailed reports and statistics in real time. Synot Lotto has recently introduced several new games developed in cooperation with Boss Media, including Hot as Hell, Magic Stars, Hot Cash, Hell’s Bells and many others. In addition, Synot Lotto is one of very few actors on the market today that can offer players truly attractive jackpots.
